Sara Bareilles

Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, I've been super busy since its Christmas and stuff, but I hope I'll get time to get right back into blogging :D

Today I chose to write about an artist. That artist is Sara Bareilles, because I love Sara Bee so. Freaking. Much.

I know I say that about everything I post about, but I'm really serious when I say I love Sara. She's such a down-to-earth, funny, dirty mouthed, real, artist; and her voice isn't too bad either.

She sings AH-mazing live, better live than in studio in fact, which is really rare in this industry. Her songs are deep, meaningful and sometimes really, incredibly beautiful.

She sings about love, heartbreak, standing up for what she believes in, feeling lost in life, feeling scared and diving head first into the unknown.

Sara's the reason why I've become SO hooked on a cappella, being a judge on the third season of The Sing- Off. What she's done and  the journey she's made is incredible and inspiring. I just find her to be a wonderful person and role model.

There's so many reasons why I love Sara Bareilles, I could just go on all day about my reasons but I will let you see for yourself.

Peace out

Song of the Day

Winter Song - Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson

After yesterday, I wanted to get back into the Christmas theme since 2 SLEEPS TO GO!!!! *SQUEEEEEEEEEE*

I love this song. Two of my favourite artists in the same song, who could pass up on that? But seriously, this song is amazing in it's own right.

This is the first true Christmas love song I've posted about (yes, I know Love is Christmas is about love too, but I don't really count it because it's a different kind of love, not relationship love).

It's a very sad and beautiful. It's full of love and winter analogies on whether things can grow in the cold of winter, or whether they can still thrive.

Winter Song was written for the Hotel Cafe christmas album, Winter Songs. Sara and Ingrid have performed it live on Jay Leno and at during the 2010 US National Christmas Tree Lighting. The sang has also been featured on Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy and Brothers and Sisters.

Can't believe Christmas has come so fast... wowee has this year passed quickly!

Song of the Day

Love is Chirstmas - Sara Bareilles

I had a sudden urge to so a post on a Christmas song, so I'm doing one on one of my all-time favourite Christmas songs. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sara Bareilles and this song.... just...

I have so many feels.

I feel like this song perfectly captures the essence of Christmas and what it truly means. It's a hauntingly beautiful song that I listen to year round, because I can. Sara sings about how Christmas isn't defined by lots of presents, or a big feast. It's defined by being surrounded by people who love you and giving the same amount of love back.

I love Christmas so much. Even if i can never spell it right.
